Pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 & 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on April 14, 2025 at 7:15 p.m. in the County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia, in order to hear citizen comments regarding the Board of Supervisors’ intention to act on the following Ordinance:
A request by Fotheringay, LLC (Agent: Balzer and Associates) for an amendment to the 2025 Montgomery County Comprehensive Plan to change the policy map designation of approximately 633.72 acres of property, located off Route 11/460 (Roanoke Road) between Crozier Road and Graham Street, from Resource Stewardship to Village Expansion. The request would further designate 307.72 acres of the total 633.72 acres in Village Expansion as Open Space, with the remaining 326 acres designated as Medium-Density Residential, within the Elliston Lafayette Village. The Medium-Density Residential policy designation permits single-family housing at a density of no greater than five dwelling units per acre. The property is further identified as Tax Map Numbers 072-A 2, 54.343 acres (Parcel ID: 023523); 072-1 56, 37.824 acres (Parcel ID: 013681); 059-3 58, 15.3 acres (Parcel ID: 013682); 059-3 57,59, 60.7 acres (Parcel ID: 013683); 072-1 60,73(1)6, 304.4 acres (Parcel ID: 013684) 072-A 4A, 0.04 acres (Parcel ID: 180205) and a 162.15 acre portion of Tax Map 072-A-4, 188.1 acres, (Parcel ID: 013680).
