Effective July 16, 2024, Bill Yeager was named General Services Director.
Bill joined Montgomery County in July 2002 as a County Building Inspector. In May of 2007, he was promoted to County Building Official. In June 2022, Bill was promoted to Assistant General Services Director. In May 2024, Bill was promoted to Interim General Services Director.
"Bill brought extensive project management related experience from his time in manufacturing and construction to the County in 2002 when he began his career as a senior building inspector," said Scott Woodrum, Assistant County Administrator. "Bill's depth of experience and solution-oriented approach in working with the contracting community as County Building Official have been critical for his transition to this role."
Prior to joining Montgomery County, Bill’s experience consisted of construction and management jobs with privately held businesses to include installation manager with Southwest Window and Sunroom Company; crew manager with Bob Showers Company; electrician with an electrical contractor; and superintendent with Boyertown Body and Equipment Company, as well as being self employed as a contractor for several years.
"Montgomery County has grown significantly since I came on the scene in 2002," said Bill. "We are positioned to experience much growth in the coming years. I’m honored to serve both the employees and citizens in this role as we look toward the future of Montgomery County."
As General Services Director, Bill oversees nine units and 43 employees.
