Scott Woodrum was named Assistant County Administrator for Montgomery County, effective April 16, 2024.
"The County is fortunate to have excellent staff members who daily demonstrate extraordinary skills and abilities," said Angie Hill, County Administrator. "This is evidenced by Scott's leadership and ability to navigate many significant projects and changes since joining the County."
As Assistant County Administrator, Scott is responsible for oversight of the Animal Care and Adoption Center, General Services, Human Services, and Information Technology.
Scott began his career with Montgomery County in December 2016 as County Engineer. In October 2019, he was selected to serve as the Director of General Services.
Prior to joining Montgomery County, Scott was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation as Land Use Director for the Salem District. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Bluefield State College in 1996 and is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Scott and his wife, Teresa, reside in the Town of Christiansburg.
