Whitethorne Public Boat Launch (New River)
Whitethorne Public Boat Launch provides access to the New River in the McCoy area of Montgomery County and is a prime location for fishing. There is a concrete ramp for easy launching of water craft. Limited trailer parking is available.
Beginning January 1, 2021 any person using a Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR)-owned or managed facility, including boat access sites, must have a valid Virginia hunting, trapping, or fishing permit, a Restore the Wild membership, an access permit, or current certification of boat registration issued by DWR to use the facility.
