A request by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors for a Special Use Permit (SUP) on property owned by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors to allow a lighted park. The proposed Special Use Permit would allow the installation of lighting at Creed Fields Park. The proposed lighting plan consists of eight (8) 60-foot light poles and seven (7) 70-foot light poles on the existing athletic fields. A total of seventy-six (76) individual LED downcast lighting fixtures would be installed on the poles, with fixtures installed at a height of 16 feet and at the maximum pole height. The property is located at 4390 Riffe Street (St. Rt. 893), and is located approximately 0.19 miles west of the intersection of Roanoke Road (Route US 11/460) and Riffe Street. The property is further identified as Tax Map 072-A 2 101 (Parcel ID: 070694), 14.336 acres, zoned Agricultural (A-1) in the Shawsville Magisterial District. The property currently lies in an area designated as Village Expansion in the 2025 Comprehensive Plan and is further designated as Civic in the Shawsville Village Plan.
