Every year for the past 34 years, the Montgomery County Finance Department has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
The award was given to Montgomery County again this year for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2020. The ACFR was judged by an objective panel of national governmental finance professionals. Once again, Montgomery County's ACFR was deemed as meeting the GFOA's high program standards, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the locality's financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the ACFR.
